St. Stephen, Morton Valence, Gloucestershire
Description
The church of St. Stephen is an ancient building of stone, consisting of chancel, nave of two bays, south aisle, north porch and an embattled western tower containing 6 bells: the chancel arch and north doorway are Norman: the latter has a tympanum, representing Our Lord overcoming Satan: the church was completely restored in 1880-4 at a cost of £750, when the chancel received a new panelled roof and the tower was carefully repaired: there are sittings for 120 persons.
