St. Bartholomew, Shapwick, Dorset


The parish church of St. Bartholemew is an ancient edifice of stone in mixed styles, consisting of chancel, nave, aisle, north and south porches, and a low western tower, containing 4 bells: it was thoroughly restored in 1879-80 at a cost of £1,300, under the direction of Mr. Frederick Keith Rogers, architect, and affords 200 sittings.

Church Records

The parish register dates from the year 1559. The original register books are now deposited with the Dorset Archives Service, but have been digitised by and made available on their site (subscription required).
