St. Catherine, Haydon, Dorset

Description

The parish church of St. Catherine, entirely rebuilt on a new site in 1883, at the expense of the late G. D. Wingfield Digby esq. is a building of stone, in the Early English style, and consists of chancel, nave, south porch and a small western turret containing one bell: the church is seated for 100 persons.

Church Records

The parish register of baptisms, marriages and burials begins in 1711. The original register books are now deposited with the Dorset Archives Service, but have been digitised by Ancestry.co.uk and made available on their site (subscription required).
