ARKWRIGHT, PETER, Esq. of Willersley, co. Derby, J.P. and D.L., b. 11 April, 1784; m. 1805, Mary-Anne, dau. of Charles Hurt, Esq. of Wirksworth, and has issue,
I. FREDERIC, b. 16 Aug. 1806; m. in 1845, Susan-Sabrina, dau. of the ven. Archdeacon Burney, and has one sun and two daus.
II. Edward, b. 15 Dec. 1808; m in 1845, Charlotte-Wilmot, dau. of Robert Sitwell, Esq., and d. in 1850, leaving three daus.
III. Henry, b. 16 March, 1811, in holy orders; m. 1st, Henrietta, dau. of the Rev. Charles Thornicroft, of Thornicroft, co. Chester, and by her (who d. in 1844) has one son and three daus., Henrietta-Beck, Sophia-Mary, and Mary-Anne-Louisa. He m. 2ndly, in 1847, Ellen, dau. of John-Home Purves, Esq., and has by her seven children.
IV. Alfred, b. 19 June, 1812; m. in 1845, Elizabeth, dau, of Henry Crutchley, Esq. of Sunning Hill Park, and has two daus.
V. James-Charles, b. 1 Oct. 1813; m. 29 June, 1854, Isabel, dau. of W.-L. Clowes, Esq. of Broughton, co. Lancester, which lady d. s. p. 5 April, 1855.
VI. Ferdinand-William, b. 10 Dec. 1814.
VII. Augustus-Peter, Comm. R.N., b. 6 March, 1821.
VIII. John-Thomas, b. 2 Nov. 1823.
I. Mary-Anne, m. in 1852, to Robert Strange, Esq. of Naples.
II. Susan-Maria, m. to the Right Rev. Joseph Wigram, D.D., Bishop of Rochester, and has issue.
IV. Margaret-Helen, m. to James-Richard Wigram, Esq., and has three sons and one dau.
V. Caroline-Ellzabeth, m. in 1852, to John Clowes, Esq., 2nd son of W.-Legh Clowes, Esq. of Broughton Hall, co. Lancaster, and has two sons and one dau.
Mr. Arkwright of Willesley is 3rd son of the late Richard Arkwright, Esq. of Willersley (see preceeding article).
