AMHERST, THE RIGHT REV. FRANCIS-KERRIL, of Field Gate House, co. Warwick, Roman Catholic Bishop of Northampton, b. 17 July, 1819.

Lineage.-This is an ancient Essex family. The late WILLIAM-KERRIL AMHERST, Esq. of Parndon, in that county, m. in May, 1817, Mary-Louisa, dau. of Francis Fortescue Turvile, Esq. of Bosworth Hall, co. Leicester, and left issue,

Arms-Gu., three tilting spears or lances, erect, in fesse, or, headed. az.
Crest-On a mount, vert, three like spears, one erect, and two in saltier, girt with a wreath of laurel, ppr.
