BENTFIELD, a hamlet, in the parish of Stansted-Mountfitchet, union of Bishop-Stortford, hundred of Clavering, N. division of Essex, 1¾ mile (N. W. by N.) from Stansted-Mountfitchet; containing 496 inhabitants. It is situated near the river Stort.
