Basset-House
BASSET-HOUSE, an extra-parochial liberty, in the union of Market-Bosworth, hundred of Sparkenhoe, S. division of the county of Leicester, 6 miles (N. E.) from Hinckley; containing 30 inhabitants. The liberty is situated near the road from Leicester to Hinckley, about midway between the two towns; and comprises 191 acres of land. It belonged to the Basset family, and passed from them to the Harringtons, Greys, and more recently to the Arkwrights.
