Fovant, Wiltshire
Historical Description
Fovant or Foffant, a parish in Wilts, on the river Avon, 2 miles SW by W of Dinton station on the L. & S.W.R., and 7 WSW of Wilton. It has a post office of the name of Fovant, under Salisbury; money order and telegraph office, Dinton. Acreage, 2203; population, 506. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Salisbury; value, £370 with residence. Patron, the Earl of Pembroke. The church is ancient, has a fine tower, and a curious brass of 1492. There are a Congregational chapel and church hall.

St. George (parish church)
The church of St. George is an ancient building of stone, consisting of chancel, with aisle, nave of four bays, aisles, and an embattled western tower containing 5 bells: the east window is a memorial to Lord Herbert of Lea, and there are three other stained windows: the church was restored in 1863, and will seat about 300 persons.
