Historical Description
Crudwell, a parish in Wilts, near the Roman road to Cirencester, 4 miles from Kemble station on the G.W.R., and 4 N by E of Malmesbury. It includes the hamlets of Chedglow, Chelworth, Eastcourt, and Murcott, and has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Malmesbury. Acreage, 4899; population, 778. The parish is a meet for the Vale of White Horse hounds. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; value, £390 with residence. The church has Norman portions, and was restored in 1880. There are Baptist and Methodist chapels.

All Saints (parish church)
The church of All Saints is a building of stone, in the Norman, Early English and Perpendicular styles, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, north chapel and a western tower with ornamental parapet, containing a clock and 5 bells: the church contains several interesting monuments and some good carving: a window in the north wall contains some old glass, representing the seven sacraments, and was repaired in 1903: the stained east window was erected in 1887: the church was restored in 1880, and affords 350 sittings.
