Newbiggin (Ravenstonedale), Westmorland
Historical Description
Newbiggin, a village in Ravenstonedale parish, Westmorland, 1¼ mile NW of Ravenstonedale station on the N.E.R, It has a post and money order office under Kirkby Stephen; telegraph office, Ravenstonedale. There is a small church erected in 1892, and endowed with £2000 by the founder, John Fothergill, Esq. Great Ewe Fell, 1198 feet high, rises immediately to the N, and Ash Fell rises a little to the E.
