Stowell, Somerset

Historical Description

Stowell, a parish in Somerset, 1½ mile W of Temple Combe station on the Somerset and Dorset railway, and 4½ miles SSW of Wincanton. Post town, Sherborne; money order and telegraph office, Temple Combe. Acreage, 932; population, 94. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Bath and Wells; net value, £105 with residence. The church was partially restored in 1891.
