Historical Description

Spridlington, a parish in Lincolnshire, 6 miles W by N of Wickenby station on the Hull and Lincoln branch of the M.S. & L.R., and 9 NNE of Lincoln. It has a post office under Lincoln; money order office, Normanby-by-Spital; telegraph office, Welton. Acreage, 2298; population, 269. The manor belongs to the Nevile family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; net value, £269 with residence. The church, erected in 1875 at a cost of about £4000, is a plain rectangular building of stone in the Gothic style. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
