Historical Description
Sapperton, a small village and a parish in Lincolnshire, 4 miles W by N of Falkingham, and 8 E of Grantham station on the G.N.R. main line. Post town, Falkingham. Acreage of the civil parish, 679; population, 53; of the ecclesiastical, 149. The manor belongs to the Welby-Gregory family. The living is a rectory, united with Braceby, in the diocese of Lincoln; joint net value, £176 with residence. The church is a small but ancient building of stone in the Norman Transition style, consisting of chancel, nave, and an embattled western tower with pinnacles and a short spire.
