Hundleby, Lincolnshire

Historical Description

Hundleby, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire. The village stands 1 mile WNW from Spilsby station on tha G.N.R., and 4½ miles NW from Firsby, and is a pleasant place. Tost town and money order and telegraph office, Spilsby. Area, 1027 acres; population, 562. The manor belongs to the Earl of Ancaster. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincoln; net value, £147. Patron, Earl of Ancaster. The church was rebuilt in 1855; is in the Later English style; consists of nave, N aisle, and chancel, with a tower, and has a handsome stone pnlpit. There are a Wes-leyan chapel, and charities, £3 10s. The Spilsby Workhouse also is here.
