Glentham, Lincolnshire
Historical Description
Glentham, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire. The village stands near the river Anchoime, 8 miles WNW of Market Kasen station on the M.S. & L.R., and has a post and money order office under Market Rasen; telegraph office, Market Rasen. The parish contains also part of the hamlet of Bishop Bridge, and part of the hamlet of Spital-in-the-Street. Acreage, 2811; population, 369. The living is a vicarage, annexed to that of Nonnanby-by-Spital; joint gross yearly value, £413. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln. The church, a building of stone in the Gothic style, consists of nave, chancel, and aisles, with an embattled tower, and was repaired in 1855. There are Wes-leyan and Primitive Methodist chapels.
