Authorpe, Lincolnshire
Historical Description
Authorpe, a parish in Lincolnshire, on the Wolds, with a station on the G.N.R., 4½ miles NW of Alford. The post town is Louth, which is the money order and telegraph office. Acreage, 941; population, 119. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; net value, £180. The church, which was rebuilt in 1848, and repaired in 1884, is a small building of brick and stone. There is a Wesleyan chapel.

St. Margaret (parish church)
The church of St. Margaret is a small and plain edifice of brick and stone, consisting of chancel, nave, south porch and a western turret containing one bell: it was rebuilt in 1848, and new roofed and improved in 1884, at a cost of upwards of £100: the church plate bears date 1680 and the font is of the 14th century: there are 90 sittings.
