Historical Description

Prestolee, a village and an ecclesiastical parish in Prestwich parish, Lancashire, near Prestwich town. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1883, and its post town is Prestwich, under Manchester. Population, 899. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Manchester; net value, £440. Patron, the Archbishop of York. The church was built in 1862, is in the Early English style, and consists of chancel, nave, transepts, and tower with spire; it was endowed by Mrs T. B. Crompton, and has a large memorial window to her, erected in 1866.
