Historical Description
Dormington, a village and a parish in Herefordshire. The village stands near the river Frome, 2 miles SE of Withington station on the G.W.R., and 5 E of Hereford. The parish includes also the chapelry of Bartestree. Post town, Hereford; money order office, Hereford; telegraph office, Withington station. Acreage, 1398; population of the civil parish, 96; of the ecclesiastical, which includes Bartestree, 341. The living is a vicarage, united with the perpetual curacy of Bartestree, in the diocese of Hereford; net value, £189 with residence. The church is ancient, with a spire, and was restored in 1876.
