Gallions Reach, Essex

Historical Description

Gallions Reach, a reach of the Thames between Plum-stead marshes in Kent and East Ham level, in Essex. It begins below Woolwich reach, extends north-eastward, is about a mile long, and has from 13 to 17 feet of water, but includes a shoal on the left side'with only 7 feet.
