Thrushelton, Devon

Historical Description

Thrushelton, a parish in Devonshire, 3½ miles Nof Coryton station on the G.W.R., and 11 N of Tavistock. Post town,. Lew Down. Acreage, 4378; population of the civil parish, 411; of the ecclesiastical, with Marystowe, 746. There is a parish council consisting of seven members. The living is a chapelry in the diocese of Exeter, annexed to Marystowe; net value, £70. The church, dedicated to St George, is an ancient and interesting structure in the Early English style. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
