Spreyton, Devon

Historical Description

Spreyton, a parish in Devonshire, 2¼ miles from Bow station on the L. & S.W.R., and 7 ENE of Okehampton. It has a post and money order office under Bow; telegraph office, Bow railway station. Acreage, 3644; population, 388. There is a parish council consisting of eight members. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Exeter; net value, £145 with residence. The church is old but good, with a lofty embattled tower. There is a Bible Christian chapel.
