Perran Round, Cornwall

Historical Description

Perran Round, an ancient amphitheatre in Perranzabuloe parish, Cornwall, 1½ mile N of Perranzabuloe church. It comprises an area of 130 feet in diameter, engirt by an earthen bank about 10 feet high and 7 broad, divided into seven rows-of steps; is supposed to have been used by the ancient Britons either as a theatre or as a court of justice, and has. capacity for about 2000 spectators.
