Leicestershire Marriages 1538 - 1837
This database contains a transcript of the marriage registers for many parishes around Leicester, from their commencement up to 1837.
These marriages were transcribed from the original register books in 1967 by W. Batty-Smith, and have not previously been published. There are three copies - one in the Leicester Archives, another in the Society of Genealogists' library, and the final copy we still have in the family. It is from this final copy that the extracts have been taken.
You can see a list of the Surnames currently in the database.
